Luis Miguel Gallego Basteri was Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on April 19, 1970. He is considered one of the greatest and most successful artists in Latin America for his wide range of musical styles, including funk, pop, ballads, boleros, tango, jazz, big band and mariachi. He has sold more than 100 million records worldwide. He began his musical career in Mexico in 1980 singing at the wedding of the daughter of the Mexican national president José López Portillo. he is the youngest singer to receive a Grammy.
.Luis Miguel only studied up to the fifth grade of primary school due to his career as a singer, but he continued his studies with private teachers. Luis Miguel began to sing mainly Pop in Spanish, and Honorio Herrero, director of Hispavox, composed the songs for his third and fourth albums. He also had the collaboration of the famous composer Luis Gómez-Escolar, from the Spanish label. A scandal arose and the lyrics of the song Decídete had to be changed, as it was censored considering the singer's age, but the following album, Word of Honor, from 1984, with the famous ballad that gives the album its name, turned out a success by then and had the production of Juan Carlos Calderón.
